The basic setup for most Trendnet routers are actually the same; there can be a slight difference between different models. So, let’s proceed to explore the steps towards setting up Trendnet Router.
➡️Step 1: First of all, you will have to obtain the default gateway for your Trendnet router. The working default gateway address, for now, is 192.168.0.254. If you’ve no idea what default gateway address is, click here to know everything.
➡️Step 2: Now open your internet browser and paste the default gateway link in the search/address box and hit enter. You will get redirected to the user login page right after clicking the default gateway link.
➡️Step 3: Right after you arrive on default gateway page, the webpage will ask you to enter your username and password to access the target page. The default username and password to access admin page is “admin” and “admin” respectively. So, use these credentials to log into the admin panel section.
➡️Step 4: Once you’re there, go to the “Setup Wizard” section and then click next to proceed with the setup.
➡️Step 5: Now here you need to select “PPPoE (RFC-2516 PPP over the internet)” option and then click Next.
➡️Step 6: On this page, you need to select manual selection options and then click on the next tab.

➡️Step 8: Now you’re done with the basic setup, and it’s the time now to do some connection setup. You will need login credentials (Login id and password). It is the connection details provided your internet service provider. So, in case if you don’t have login credentials, ask your provider to provide you through call or chat support. Once you get the connection details from ISP, enter them in the fields marked below in the image. Once done, click next to proceed onwards. Also, don’t touch any other setting field there on the page, those will stay as is.

If you don’t want to use wireless feature of your router, you can uncheck the Enable box next to “Device” and then click next to proceed.
Else, if you want to use that feature, simply check the Enable box next to “Device.” Now enter your SSID, which is nothing but a name that you want to assign to your router. Once done, click next.
➡️Step 10: This step is the final wireless setting step where you need to define a password and security mode for your router. If you don’t want to use any password and security mode for your router, simply select none for all the relevant fields.
Else, select security mode as WPA/WPA2+TKIP/AES and define a password and enter that in PASSPHRASE section. Once done, click next.
That’s it. Now a message will appear on screen stating set up was successful and restart to finish the setup.
